FLEET & OWNER-OPERATOR ACCOUNTS
Net-30 billing, dedicated dispatch, and the heavy iron to recover what you actually run, across Texas.
ONE TOWING PARTNER FOR YOUR WHOLE OPERATION
When you run trucks for a living, a breakdown isn’t an ‘if,’ it’s a ‘when,’ and it always seems to land at 2 a.m. with a loaded trailer and a delivery window closing. A fleet account with Smith Towing means the logistics are handled before that call ever comes: billing set up once, a dispatcher who knows your account, and the heavy equipment to clear your rig the first time.
We’ve run commercial and fleet work on Net-30 terms out of our Crosby yard since 2001, for trucking carriers, owner-operators, oilfield and energy contractors, construction outfits, dealerships, and plant operators along the Houston Ship Channel. One signed account, one number to call, clean itemized invoices matched to your PO.
Because our heavy-duty and semi recovery genuinely travels, a fleet account isn’t boxed into the Houston metro. For the big jobs, a downed Class 8 tractor, a loaded rollover, oversize freight on its side, we run statewide across Texas.

NET-30 BILLING & PO-MATCHED INVOICING
The whole point of a fleet account is that money never stops a recovery. We set your company up on Net-30 terms once, so when a unit goes down there’s no card to run at the scene and no approval chain to chase. The truck rolls and the invoice follows. Every invoice is itemized and matched to your PO or unit number, so your back office can reconcile it against the job without a phone call.
For carriers and contractors running dozens of trucks, that clean paper trail is the difference between a tow vendor and a real partner. Set it up once and stop re-explaining your billing on every breakdown.
ONE DISPATCH NUMBER, AND REAL PRIORITY
When you call, a real dispatcher answers, not a call center three states away reading from a script. On a fleet account, that dispatcher can see your account, your equipment, and your usual lanes, and gives you a straight ETA instead of a runaround.
Account holders get priority when the board is busy, because a fleet that’s on file and keeps us moving comes first. One number, 24/7/365, for every truck you run: light, medium, or heavy.
THE EQUIPMENT TO RECOVER WHAT YOU RUN
A fleet account is only as good as the iron behind it. We run a serious heavy-duty fleet out of our 4-acre Crosby yard: 50- and 75-ton rotators for loaded rollovers and tight-quarters lifts, a 35-ton heavy wrecker, and a 40-ton NRC carrier that hauls dozers, forklifts, and shipping containers. Add flatbeds, wheel-lifts, and full recovery rigging, and we handle anything from a stranded service van to an 80,000-lb Class 8 recovery without subcontracting the job out.
That range matters for a fleet, because you don’t want three vendors for light, medium, and heavy. One call covers the dead box truck on the feeder road and the jackknifed tractor on the interstate, handled by the right rig the first time.
STATEWIDE FOR THE HEAVY JOBS, LOCAL FOR THE REST
For day-to-day light and medium work, our coverage runs across Crosby and the greater Houston metro: fast, local, and the same crew every time. But heavy-duty and semi recovery is different. That equipment travels, and so do we. When a fleet has a loaded tractor down on I-10 west of San Antonio, a rollover on I-35, or oversize freight stranded on I-20, we run those jobs statewide across Texas.
If you move freight through Texas, that means one heavy-recovery number that doesn’t care which county the breakdown lands in, instead of scrambling for an unknown local operator every time a unit goes down out of town.
WHO WE SET UP ACCOUNTS FOR
Fleet and commercial accounts are a core part of what we do, and they come in every size. We carry accounts for trucking carriers and freight haulers, independent owner-operators who want a reliable number that isn’t a 1-800 dispatch lottery, oilfield and energy service companies, construction and heavy-equipment contractors, auto and RV dealerships, property managers, and school districts and municipalities.
If you run vehicles, one truck or a hundred, we can set you up. The paperwork is the same either way; only the volume changes.
COI, TWIC & PLANT-READY COMPLIANCE
Commercial work comes with paperwork, and we come ready for it. We issue certificates of insurance naming your company or facility as additional insured, sent ahead so the COI is on file before we roll. Our operators carry current TWIC credentials, so a recovery inside a refinery, chemical plant, or Port of Houston terminal doesn’t stall at the guard shack waiting on an escort.
For plant contractors and energy fleets, that compliance package (COI, TWIC, and written lift plans for critical picks) is what lets an outside wrecker actually start the job on schedule instead of turning a recovery into a permitting exercise.
STORAGE, DIESEL SHOP & LESS DOWNTIME
A recovery is only half the problem. The truck still has to go somewhere and get fixed. Our Crosby facility runs a secured 4-acre yard for storing disabled units, trailers, and equipment, plus an on-site diesel and trailer shop with an overhead crane. A fleet unit can be towed in, diagnosed, and repaired without a second pickup to a separate shop.
For a fleet manager, that’s fewer vendors, fewer handoffs, and less downtime per breakdown. The recovery, the storage, and the repair all run under one roof and one account.
