MEDIUM DUTY TOWING
Box trucks, commercial vans, dually pickups, and work trucks — the in-between weight class most operators struggle with.
THE IN-BETWEEN WEIGHT CLASS
A Class 3–6 box truck or commercial van is too heavy for a standard wheel-lift and doesn’t need the full Peterbilt rotator. That’s medium duty, a size class where having the right truck with the right capacity matters.
Our medium duty units handle delivery trucks, step vans, dually pickups, contractor rigs, and light commercial equipment. Fully insured for commercial fleet work with itemized receipts for insurance reimbursement.
Dispatched 24/7 from Crosby. Same response times as our light duty service: 15 min within Crosby, 20–40 min across greater Houston.
MEDIUM DUTY CAPABILITIES
- Box trucks & step vans (Class 3–6)
- Dually pickups (F-350, Ram 3500, Silverado 3500)
- Commercial delivery vans
- Contractor trucks & service rigs
- Shuttle buses & short-wheelbase buses
- Small equipment trailers
- Fleet tow contracts
- Damage-free flatbed transport
BOX TRUCKS, U-HAUL & PENSKE RENTALS
Class 3–6 box trucks are the backbone of medium-duty towing in Houston, and rental trucks are the single most common call we get. A 26-foot U-Haul, Penske, Budget, or Ryder rig that won’t start, blows a tire on I-10, or dies mid-move on Beltway 8 is too tall and too heavy for a standard wheel-lift, but it doesn’t need the Peterbilt rotator either. It needs a medium-duty truck sized for the load. We tow loaded and empty box trucks, recover them off shoulders and out of parking structures, and get DIY movers and delivery drivers back on the road. We’ll coordinate the drop at the rental yard or wherever the dispatcher routes us.
SPRINTER & CARGO VANS
Mercedes Sprinters, Ford Transits, RAM ProMasters, and Chevy Express cargo vans are taller and heavier than a passenger van, often loaded with tools or freight, and frequently too tall to clear a standard parking-garage hook. We transport sprinter and cargo vans on a flatbed or with the right wheel-lift so the body, the roof rack, and whatever’s inside stay intact. For contractors and last-mile delivery drivers across greater Houston, a down van is lost income, so a real dispatcher takes the call 24/7 and we give you a straight ETA.
DUALLY PICKUPS & HEAVY 1-TONS
A loaded F-350, RAM 3500, or Silverado 3500 dually, especially one hooked to a gooseneck or fifth-wheel, outweighs what a light-duty truck should be handling, and the dual rear wheels need a hookup that won’t scrub the tires or bend a fender. We tow one-ton and dually pickups the right way, whether it’s a work truck that dropped a transmission on US-59 or a loaded hauler stranded on the side of the highway. If a trailer is attached, we sort the trailer out too rather than leaving you stuck with it.
BUCKET TRUCKS & UTILITY/SERVICE TRUCKS
Bucket trucks, boom trucks, line trucks, and utility service rigs carry a high center of gravity and a lot of value up top, so loading and securing them takes someone who understands the weight and the balance. We move medium-duty utility and service trucks for electrical, telecom, tree-service, and municipal fleets across the Houston area, off a job site, out of a yard, or off the shoulder after a breakdown, and secure the boom and outriggers so nothing shifts in transit.
SHUTTLE BUSES & SHORT-WHEELBASE BUSES
Hotel shuttles, church vans, daycare buses, and cutaway shuttle buses on a Ford E-450 or similar chassis are heavier than they look and often have passengers to coordinate around. We recover and transport shuttle and short-wheelbase buses across greater Houston and work with fleet and facility dispatchers to keep the process orderly. For the full-size transit buses and motorcoaches, that’s a heavy-duty job, and we run that equipment too, so one call covers the whole fleet.
COMMERCIAL FLEET & NET-30 ACCOUNTS
Medium-duty work is where fleet relationships matter most. We set up Net-30 commercial accounts for delivery companies, contractors, property managers, and rental operators who need a single towing vendor they can call without a credit-card dance every time a truck goes down. You get itemized receipts built for insurance reimbursement and accounting, priority dispatch, and one company that already knows your equipment. We’ve run on the Houston–Crosby corridor since 2001. Fleet managers aren’t breaking in a new vendor on a bad day.
FLATBED TRANSPORT FOR MEDIUM-DUTY
A lot of medium-duty vehicles ride best on a flatbed: AWD and 4×4 work trucks that can’t be towed on their drive wheels, low-clearance delivery vans, equipment with sensitive bodywork, or anything already damaged in a wreck. Loading the whole vehicle onto the deck means nothing drags and the drivetrain isn’t turning the whole way to the shop. We run flatbed and wheel-lift options and pick whichever protects your truck for the haul.
SMALL EQUIPMENT & TRAILER TOWING
Between a pickup and a full construction machine sits a whole class of medium loads: landscape trailers, enclosed cargo trailers, mini excavators and skid steers on a tag trailer, generators, and light contractor equipment. We move small equipment and loaded trailers to and from job sites and yards across the region, secured properly so the load arrives the way it left.
MEDIUM-DUTY TOWING ACROSS GREATER HOUSTON
We dispatch medium-duty trucks 24/7/365 from our 4-acre Crosby facility and run calls across the metro: I-10 through the Baytown and Channelview stretches, US-59 / I-69, I-45, Beltway 8, and the SH-225 corridor. Response runs about 15 minutes inside Crosby and roughly 20–40 minutes across greater Houston depending on location and traffic, the same coverage as our light-duty service. When you call, a real dispatcher, not a call center, picks up and gives you a straight ETA.
